Britain wants to de-escalate tensions with the European Union and find a solution to a post-Brexit Northern Ireland trade dispute that has threatened broader relations between the two sides, the Times newspaper reported on Friday (12th November)


2. Toshiba says it plans to split into three firms, rejects calls to go private

Japanese industrial conglomerate Toshiba Corp (6502.T) outlined plans on Friday to break up into three independent companies by spinning off two core businesses - its energy and infrastructure business as well as its device and storage business.



3. Vietnam share of global footwear exports surges past 10 pct

For the first time last year, Vietnam accounted for more than 10 percent of the world’s footwear exports after growing five-fold since 2011. The country remained in second place with exports of 1.23 billion pairs behind only China (7.4 billion), according to the World Footwear 2021 Year Book published by the Portuguese Footwear, Components and Leather Goods Manufacturers Association.
