Attending the ceremony were Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of UEB-VNU, Assoc. Prof. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Research & Development Cooperation Department of EUB-VNU, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Banking and Finance,the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing and other departments of the university. On behalf of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Mr. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau - ACCA Director Mekong Region, Jimmy Geer - Head of Sustainability Division, ACCA Global; Ms. Le Thi Hau - Mekong Delta ACCA Training Director, Ms. Nguyen Mai Chi - Head of Hanoi Office, ACCA Vietnam; Ms. Le Thi My Hanh - Head of Customer Relation Department, ACCA Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh - Vice Chairman, ACCA Member Committee in Vietnam; Executive Director, Social Enterprise Institute Member of the Board of Directors of VIOD were present.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Nguyen Anh Thu highly appreciated the cooperation between UEB-VNU and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK. The relation between the university and the ACCA begun in 2010, has obtaned significant successes. She hopes that the formalization of cooperation activities by signing a memorandum of understanding will bring the relationship to a new grade.
Based on the needs and aspirations of both sides, from 2010 to present, UEB and ACCA have cooperated in training, research and career consulting in the field of finance, accounting and auditing. This cooperation has been recognized with many effective activities such as the successful organization of state-level conferences, shared speakers in international conferences, trainer training program "Train the Trainers", experience seminars from international lecturers / experts for university lecturers / students, career orientation programs for students: “Conquering successful recruiter in the field of accounting - financial audit"; Organized contests / scholarships for accounting and auditing students: "Me of tomorrow" contest "AIS" "Conquering the peak Accounting - Auditing".
At the ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau, Director of ACCA Mekong Region, expressed her sincere thanks to UEB for welcoming and hosting the ceremony. She highly appreciates the development and prestige of UEB, and at the same time, she wished to build a long-term and comprehensive cooperation relationship with the University.
Immediately after the information exchange, the two parties signed a memorandum of cooperation. Accordingly, UEB will develop and implement undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Finance - Banking and Accounting - Auditing which integrate academic knowledge and professional occupations, including Use ACCA programs as well as available ACCA resources; At the same time, UEB will also introduce the first 9 ACCA subjects taught in the Master's and Graduate programs; Use ACCA curriculum as a source of instructional materials.
In addition, UEB will recognize the results of 9 ACCA examinations in the university's masters programs, based on compliance with the regulations of Hanoi National University.
Other potential partnerships are also mentioned in the partnership agreement, such as coordinating the establishment and maintenance of the "ACCA Online Center" with brochures, banners ... at the University of Economics, when appropriate; link the relevant content on the ACCA website to the UEB website; provides information sessions, attendance sessions, extracurricular sessions and other events to provide ACCA's professional accountancy and accounting direction to UEB students….
