According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien, unlike the traditional annual report, an integrated report contains comprehensive information of the firm to provide a story about the process of creating the business value. Although preparing integrated reports is an increasing trend of companies in other countries, it hasn’t received enough interest from listed companies in Vietnam since only 17% companies in the sample have exactly performed integrated reports as requirement of the Ministry of Finance and the Stock Exchange. Therefore, Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien emphasized the causes and proposed some of policy suggestions for the Ministry of Finance and Vietnamese Government to improve the integrated reporting practices in Vietnam.

At the round table, Mr.Jimmy Greer, head of Sustainability Department, global ACCA provided interesting and useful speech about the existing Framework of integrated report preparation following international standards and the relevant concerns he had discovered. With the extensive working and researching experiences on integrated report, he assessed the implementation levels in preparing integrated reports in 6 different countries. Finally, he presented issues which companies need to resolve in order to prepare the integrated reports.

The round table became very attractive and excited when experts, lecturers and students raised interesting questions to the speakers about necessity of preparing integrated report to a company, the choices of companies that are required to prepare integrated reports and the construction of framework and standards for this activity in Vietnam. As the conclusion made by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, the round table was considered very successful and many questions raised could be the topic for the future researches.
